Though the couple has been making a handful of adorable appearances [3] together lately, the Australian actor was visibly absent from the award show.

So, why wasn't he at the show with Miley? His Isn't It Romantic [4] costar Rebel Wilson told Extra that he was hospitalized [5] on Saturday night and missed on a press day for the upcoming romantic comedy. Us Weekly later reported that the "canceled his junket interviews Sunday because he was suffering from kidney stones [6]."

Though Liam wasn't feeling good enough to attend the LA premiere of his film on Monday, his wife Miley stepped in for him on the red carpet [7]. "So proud of my hunky hubby @liamhemsworth & his newest movie #IsntItRomantic ❤️ He unfortunately wasn't able to attend due to health reasons . . . but he is recovering and taking this time to rest / heal," she wrote following the premiere.
