Would You Pay To Go on a Cruise with Your Favorite Celebrity?

Would You Pay To Go on a Cruise With Your Favorite Celebrity?

Last weekend John Mayer boarded the Mayercraft Carrier on a cruise with some of his biggest fans. We realized while it might be a dream come true for the passengers it could have become a total nightmare for the celebrity. John seemed to be such a good sport about the whole thing, but we can imagine how it could go wrong. So tell us — would you pay to go on a cruise with your favorite star?

I would almost rather do something else. One of my favorite radio personalities has a very in depth knowledge of San Francisco and New York. I would like to take a tour with him and practice shooting (film) more human interest type subjects. A local talk radio station out of Chicago hosts live remote broadcasts with another favorite radio show of mine. The people on the show are awesome, and the broadcast is just wild. Basically, we sit and drinkie drinkie. Tons of fun!! (bonus points to anyone who knows who I'm talking about. :) )

I voted maybe if the right person, etc - but... Ive never been the type to chase a man...never had to. I watch Brett Michaels and his ...uh...groupies..and the throwing themselves at him makes me SICK...its ridiculous. I agree with the girl that doesnt want to kiss him after the other 18. That sort of thing just never has been "me". But I might go (if I didnt fear cruising on the ocean) and just enjoy myself and if HE would happen to come up to me and strike up a conversation, that would be great. Throwing myself at him, crawling over other women to get to him? Never.

Well, as much as I'd want to see my favourite male celebrity up close, I would rather not have to fight 500 other women for his attention. I prefer to leave such encounters to my dreams ;)

I don't care for cruises.....a celebrity on board would not entice me to go. :O]

I don't think so. I think if you admire someone a lot, then there are a lot of expectations of how they are, so to meet them would probably be a disappointment.

I will and I did!!! It only cost me $550 and I got to watch John perform twice, watched Colbie Caillat and Brett Dennen play, watched Sherrod Small, spent a day in the Bahamas, and got pampered by the crew on the ship (which by the way had pretty good food). It was so worth it!!! I never got close to John as well since he said from the start that he would like to mingle and not just hide out in VIP area and asked that people not ask for pics with him too much coz that would take too much time and the people onboard respected his request. He mingled with us at the 80s Prom event and even popped by Colbie's show one night. He was so down to earth and funny!!! Also, the cruise was mainly about enjoying music and having fun and John Mayer made sure it was fun (esp. when he performed on the Lido deck all drunk).Because as he said it himself on one of his main shows "You owe it to yourself!" I would love to go again next time but like what Audrey1974 said, it would not be the same type of crowd who went because they would appreciate the music not just the celebrity.

i might do it - depending on the cost etc. i would feel bad for the celeb though. it's not like you can escape people - even if you go to your room - you know that people would figure out what cabin you're in and stalk you.

I'd have loved to go on the Mayercraft, but it's bad timing for me work-wise. I'd love to go next year, but now that it's all over the internet, forget it. Too many crazies will be on there. I'm sure the paparazzi will get on there, too.

Yes, I would but I don't think I'd do it for anyone else but John Mayer. I'm a John Mayer fan through and through, and I'm sad I missed out on this one. But it's not about getting to "hang out" with a celebrity, because trust me, that barely happened for anyone on the Mayercraft. It's about the music, about the fans, and about having fun together. John is very open and compassionate with his fans, and that's who he did this for. Everyone I've heard from that went said they had a blast. All that music, and meeting other fans that I've been talking to for years online but have never met - I've already started saving for next year! (And actually the cabins ranged from about $450 to $800+ as I recall.)

No, because they'd obviously wouldn't want to be there. Who wants to feel like a burden. ^_^

Depends. I would want to hang out with John Mayer though. I'm really passionate about music and I transcribe/write/play music in my free time, so I'd definitely want to get some inspiration from him and such. That aside, I wouldn't want to hang out with, say, Paris Hilton... And I can't even borrow her clothes. Her feet are too big, and she's too tall. So, no! :P

No thanks. I'll stick with my illusions!

My friend was on the Mayercraft and never got within 10 feet of John Mayer...And trust me, she wanted to... So probably not.
