Yummy reading

Ruth Reichl's new book, Garlic and Sapphires has just hit bookstores this weekend. I can't wait to get my hands on this one. I am not really a Foodie person, but I was given her first two books, Tender at the Bone and Comfort Me with Apples and ended up devouring them. Her writing is so juicy and so well done that you are disappointed when the book is finished.

Ruth has lived an amazing life, which she documents in the first 2 titles. She tells us about her early experiences with food and how they mark moments in time for her. We go on a journey with her up until she goes to NYC to become the NY Times Restaurant critic. The latest book is about her times at the paper and her crazy unique ways to review the top eateries. This job put her on the map as she became well known for dressing up in various characters to avoid getting special treatment anywhere. This eventually led her to her latest job as the Editor-in-Chief of Gourmet Magazine.

Trust me, she’s an amazing and very entertaining lady. This book is bound to be just as fabulous, if not better than the first two. Warning: Do not read when hungry.
