We definitely weren't expecting Calvin Harris to feud with a (former) member of One Direction, but that's exactly what happened on Monday when the DJ swooped in to defend his girlfriend, Taylor Swift [1], in a slightly confusing Twitter feud. Zayn Malik, who left One Direction [2] back in March, retweeted a series of photos [3] that seemed to compare Taylor's decision to pull her music from Spotify (and her open letter urging Apple Music to pay musicians [4] during a three-month user trial) with a recent Miley Cyrus quote that read, "I've made my money. If no one buys my album, it's cool. It's fine. . . I don't need anything else."

Zayn followed up the retweet by seemingly referring to Miley's quote as a "G statement," which did not sit well with Taylor's current beau, Calvin. He responded with, "You've made your money? Cool. . . f*ck the 99% of musicians who depend on these services to survive right? Yeah f*ck them."
