Zooey Deschanel [1] is just as delightful and quirky as ever! The New Girl actress stopped by The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Thursday and opened up about her new life as a mother. Zooey, who gave birth [2] to her first child, daughter Elsie Otter [3], last July, couldn't help but gush about how much joy (and anxiety) her little one has brought to her life. Aside from explaining how nervous she was when she first held her newborn, the actress also explained how her love for animals inspired Elsie's unusual middle name. "We thought Elsie is a classic name," she said. "And then we were like, 'the middle name can be a little bit wild.' We love otters because they're so cute, playful, fun, and really smart."
