Adam Rippon is getting married! On Wednesday, the Olympic figure skater announced that he and his boyfriend, Jussi-Pekka Kajaala, got engaged during a recent trip to Jussi-Pekka's home country of Finland. "JP and I didn't get to see each other for almost all of 2020 because of the pandemic. When there was finally a chance for me to go and see him in Finland, I jumped at it," he wrote on Instagram. After spending two months together, Adam said that they decided to buy rings [3] and say that "magic word," "duh!"
The couple first started dating in 2018 after meeting on Tinder. In a statement to People, Adam further gushed about Jussi-Pekka [4], saying, "I'm excited to marry JP because he's just the best. He's kind, he's funny, and he's just as beautiful on the inside as he is on the out (which is a lot). He's my cheerleader and I'm his. I just love him a lot." Congrats to the happy couple on their engagement.
