The 2023 Vanity Fair Oscars party [1] brought out some major stars, from Megan Thee Stallion [2] to Billie Eilish and boyfriend Jesse Rutherford [3], but the bash marked an extra special milestone for Becky G and Sebastian Lletget: their first joint red carpet since getting engaged [4]. On Sunday, the couple made a sultry appearance when they arrived at the event. The 26-year-old singer kept things sexy in a chain-mail dress, while the 30-year-old FC Dallas soccer star looked dapped in a black suit.
Becky G and Lletget have been together [5] since June 2016. In a previous interview with POPSUGAR [6], Becky G revealed that she was the one who made the first move in their relationship. "I remember mutual friends [Jordan and Naomi Scott] kind of talking and putting in groundwork on each end. Jordan had played with Sebastian in the past, and his wife, Naomi, was my castmate in the movie that I was filming at the time," she explained. "They kept playing cupid, and they didn't tell either one of us who we were or what we did because they didn't want us to fall under the pressure of, 'Oh, superstar dating athlete! Oh, perfect match made in heaven,' because they knew who we were as people."
"I followed him on Twitter and he followed me back, and I remember it was like this ghost-y, 'I know you exist, you know I exist,' thing," she added. "I waited a couple days after my 19th birthday just to sound older, which is so funny to me now . . . he was like 23 at the time . . . so I slid in the DM real hard and I was like, 'Hi, what's up?' So groundbreaking!"
The couple announced their engagement this past December with photos from Lletget's oceanside proposal in Manhattan Beach, CA. "Our spot forever," they captioned the joint Instagram post. While speaking with People [7] earlier this month, Becky G revealed she has not started wedding planning, adding, "I don't know, I might just go make an appointment, go to the courthouse. Call it a day. Throw a party later." Or, she may also "throw a big ass Mexican wedding," she told the outlet. "We said for sure they'll be mariachi — whatever we do there has to be mariachi — there has to be good food and good asado because he's Argentinian, I'm Mexican so for sure that and of course our families. I think as we develop those conversations, we'll see where it takes us."
