Boo! We're in the thick of another Halloween [1], and of course, the main event is choosing a costume [2] and comparing it to your best costumes of years past. For pop culture aficionados like us, this time of year involves reflecting on our favorite celebrity costumes [3], too. So far, stars like Keke Palmer, Victoria Monét, and Paris Hilton [4] have already posted photos of their over-the-top getups for 2023, and we can't wait to see what else is in store as folks head out to trick-or-treat on Tuesday night.
But to really nail down the nostalgic factor [5] we love so much when it comes to Halloween [6], we reached out to a few celebrities to see what their all-time favorite Halloween costumes are. See what they told us below.
Harvey Guillén as Big Boy
Harvey Guillén has long been a fan favorite for his role of Guillermo on "What We Do in the Shadows." [7] Most recently, he appeared in "Blue Beetle." As someone who takes on different roles for work, Guillén shared his favorite Halloween [8] transformation, which took place in 2012.
"I grew up in Southern California, so Bob's Big Boy was a staple," he tells POPSUGAR. "It was a treat to get pancakes on Saturday morning there, and I would always stop at the statue up front and make this pose. And as an adult, I said, 'Why not be him for Halloween?' It brought so many memories back with family . . . and now I want that cheeseburger! Ha!"
Kim Chi as a Bunny
You may recognize Kim Chi for being a season eight contestant on "RuPaul's Drag Race." She was a barrier breaker on the show, becoming the first Korean American contestant. She also owns the beauty brand [9] KimChi Chic.
Despite all her fabulous looks as a drag queen, you've never seen her quite like this, in a childhood bunny costume. As she tells POPSUGAR, "I've always had a strong affinity for bunnies, since I was born on the year of the rabbit. You could say I was serving hip-hop in this look before it was cool. Just look how hoppy I look — furreal!"
Kylie Cantrall as Ariel
Kylie Cantrall is an actress and musician who will release a new single, "Elastic," on Nov. 15, and she's planning to release her debut album early next year. She recently reflected on her most memorable Halloween [10] costume, which she wore when she was a kindergartener.
"I was obsessed with 'The Little Mermaid' [11] as a kid, so much so that not only did I dress up as Ariel one year for Halloween, but I was caught on occasion wearing the full Ariel getup to school," she tells POPSUGAR. "It wasn't long before my teacher told me that I can't keep showing up to kindergarten in a red wig!"
