37 Photos That Prove the "Succession" Cast Are Nothing Like Their Characters in Real Life

With the end of "Succession" right around the corner, it's definitely not too early to start feeling nostalgic about the show's talented, lovable cast. While the HBO series centers around the dysfunctional Roy family and all of their twisted drama, off screen, the cast — which includes Brian Cox, Jeremy Strong, Kieran Culkin, Sarah Snook, Nicholas Braun, Alan Ruck, Matthew Macfadyen, and J. Smith-Cameron — seem to get along just fine. In fact, when they're not filming, they're either serving looks on the red carpet together or goofing around with one another.

Series creator Jesse Armstrong revealed that the show was ending in a Feb. 23 interview with the New Yorker. "You know, there's a promise in the title of 'Succession.' I've never thought this could go on forever," he said. "The end has always been kind of present in my mind. From season two, I've been trying to think: Is it the next one, or the one after that, or is it the one after that?"

Since then, some of the cast have shared their mixed reactions to the news.

"Jesse won't let anything go on further than it needs to," said Cox, who plays Logan Roy. "A lot of shows outstay their welcome, and I think our show is perfect, and neat, in the way it is." Meanwhile, Snook — who plays Shiv Roy — has said that she "felt a huge sense of loss, disappointment, and sadness" because the show is ending.

One thing's for sure: The cast of "Succession" definitely aren't exactly like their characters. While the Roys and their entourage and competitors probably couldn't trust each other much less, Braun, who plays Cousin Greg, said that the cast shares a strong bond with each other. "There's just a lot of trust," he said in a 2022 interview with The Wrap. "In a scene with three characters or a scene with 15 characters, everyone knows their role so well and knows the rhythms of our show so well and knows when you can improv or when you can fill in a gap or when you let somebody else have it."

In honor of the fourth and final season, look back at some of the cast's sweetest moments together.
