Who would've thought seeing Denzel Washington [1] brought to tears would end up being such a sweet moment? During press for his upcoming film The Little Things, Access showed Denzel a clip of a previous interview with his son, John David Washington, whom he shares with wife Pauletta Washington [2]. "I think it's about time," John David told Access about his dad being named the best actor of the 21st century [3] by The New York Times. "I think he is one of the greatest to ever do it, so it was a very proud moment for our entire family."

Denzel was completely taken aback by his son's praise, enough so that he had to take a moment to process the compliment. "Wow, I'm speechless. I forgot what the question was, but I'm speechless. I didn't know he said that," Denzel added when asked what his reaction was. The Little Things follows Denzel as a sheriff with a dark past whose hunt for a serial killer with a fellow cop could bring that past to light. The film premieres Jan. 29 on HBO Max, with Rami Malek as Sgt. Jim Baxter and Jared Leto [4] as suspect Albert Sparma. You can see the touching moment play out in the full video above.
