What a joy it is to watch Demi Lovato [1] profusely blush on their own damn podcast. The singer recently chatted with actress Emily Hampshire for a profound episode of 4D With Demi Lovato that touched on gender, sexuality, and eating disorder recovery. During the conversation, however, Emily, who played Stevie in Schitt's Creek [2], casually slipped in the sly start to their friendship: "You DMed me."
Emily went on to quote Demi's first message, which went something like, "Hey girl, I like you on the show. We should kick it sometime. . . . And by kick it, I mean go on a date. I find you attractive." As Demi let out their laughter, Emily said, "You made it clear that it was a date . . . I loved that because sometimes that's confusing."
That initial conversation then took a turn when Emily brought up their age gap (Demi is 29 and Emily is 40) and Demi replied with, "Think of Sarah Paulson and Holland Taylor," who are 32 years apart. Although Demi said it was not their "smoothest move," they do admire Sarah and Holland's relationship [4].
