Big Little Lies star Laura Dern isn't just a regular mom, she's a cool mom. Not only does she show up on her daughter's TikTok, reading her a school book and insisting she do her homework on the social media platform, but she was also the most proud mom when her son walked his first NYFW show. She just wants to see her kids succeed! And we love it! She also shares so many adorable family pictures on Instagram, whether it's at events or from their travels, and each one is sweeter than the last. Ellery Harper
Ellery Harper was born Aug. 21, 2001. He is Laura Dern's oldest child with former husband Ben Harper. The teen has dabbled in modeling, walking in his first runway show for Calvin Klein in 2018. He and his famous mom are very tight — sharing several pictures on her Instagram of their adventures — though he apparently likes to keep some things on the down low when it comes to Laura.
She shared a story with Town and Country about a time he was in a summer program while Big Little Lies was airing and when the rest of the teens started discussing the show, he largely stayed quiet. When he eventually admitted he'd seen the show, the rest of the kids assumed he didn't like it because he didn't say much. Laura said that Ellery then told everyone else that his mom was Renata Klein, Laura's character. But because they didn't actually know who Ellery's mom was, they thought he just meant figuratively! "I love that he didn't say Laura Dern. He said his mom was Renata! I was like, 'That this happened to you around that character, of all characters. Poor thing," she said.
Jaya Harper
Jaya Harper was born in November 2004. She is Laura Dern's youngest child with former husband Ben Harper. Like Ellery, Jaya often pops up at events with her mom, showing off how proud she is of her work. Jaya is already outspoken about causes she believes in, including saying she hopes her generation doesn't have to say "me too" and volunteering with Everytown For Gun Safety.
Jaya is also active on TikTok, where her famous mom has made an appearance. Usually, though, Jaya just posts videos poking fun at politics and showing her support for former vice president Joe Biden.
