Jenna Ortega may be one of the biggest stars in Hollywood [1] right now, but even she gets starstruck every now and then. During her March 9 appearance on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," the 20-year-old "Wednesday" actor [2] recalled "freaking out" at the 2023 SAG Awards when she realized Paul Mescal [3] was sitting at the same table as her and Zendaya [4].
"I was kind of freaking out because [Zendaya] was sitting next to Paul Mescal, who I think is so talented and so good," Ortega told Fallon. "And I was so nervous to meet him, and I knew he was gonna be at my table. And I remember him — he introduced himself to me when I wasn't expecting it, so he was like, 'Oh, hi, nice to meet you. I'm Paul.' And I was so nervous, I kind of couldn't look at him in the eyes."
Ortega — who is making her hosting debut [6] on "Saturday Night Live [7]" this weekend — also discussed her and Aubrey Plaza presenting [8] at the Feb. 26 award ceremony and her latest film [9], "Scream VI." "I would do anything with her," Ortega said of working with Plaza. "She's really cool."
