Wedding bells are ringing for Nicole Scherzinger! On June 27, the 44-year-old singer announced on Instagram that she and 38-year-old Scottish rugby player Thom Evans are engaged. Alongside photos from the romantic beach proposal, Scherzinger wrote, "I said yes 💍♥️." Evans also posted the same pictures on his Instagram account [1], captioning them, "My Ever After 💍❤️."

Of course, it didn't take long for Scherzinger's celebrity friends to jump in the comments with congratulatory messages. Ashlee Simpson [2] Ross wrote, "Congratulations ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️," while Leslie Odom Jr. penned, "ABSOLUTELY!! 👑👑." Naomi Campbell [3], Rebel Wilson, Natasha Bedingfield, and Tamar Braxton also sent their well-wishes.

Scherzinger and Evans first met back in 2019 when the rugby player appeared as a contestant on "X Factor: Celebrity," where Scherzinger was serving as a judge, per Cosmopolitan [5]. It wasn't until January 2020, however, that they went public with their romance. Scherzinger opened up about how the COVID-19 pandemic strengthened her relationship with Evans in a 2021 interview with The Times [6]. "I've definitely been through my fair share of insecurities that I've fought through and battled, and I've gone through challenges and relationships — and what doesn't kill you makes you stronger," Scherzinger said. "Now I have a new perspective and things balance out. And I'm really grateful to [in lockdown] build a healthy, strong, solid foundation to my relationship."
