Meet George and Amal Clooney's 2 Kids, Alexander and Ella

George Clooney was one of Hollywood's most eligible bachelors for years. But that all changed when the Oscar winner met and fell hard for his now-wife, high-profile human-rights lawyer Amal Clooney (née Alamuddin). Not only is George a married man, but he's also a dad to two kids.

George and Amal got married in a ceremony in Venice, Italy, in 2014, and the latter gave birth to their fraternal twins, Alexander and Ella, in June 2017. Though George is known for starring in dozens of Hollywood productions, including "Ocean's Eleven," "Up in the Air," "Gravity," and "Ticket to Paradise," his roles as a husband and father are the ones closest to his heart. "In marriage, and now with the kids, you give away the selfishness of only looking out for yourself," George told People in 2020. "It's a wonderful thing. Amal and I talk about it every day. . . . We feel so lucky."

Though George and Amal haven't made any public appearances with their children, they're not shy about talking about them in the press. In an Oct. 21, 2022, interview on "The Drew Barrymore Show," George confessed that he was "terrified" when he found out he was having twins. "That wasn't part of the plan," he said. "We went to that thing at 12 weeks where they go, there's the kid. [To] look at the picture of the kid. And [the doctor] goes, 'It's a boy.' Then he goes, 'And a girl.' And I was like, 'What?' It was such a disaster. I was like, 'Are you kidding me?'" Of course, George treasures his kids now. "Now, it's the greatest thing in the world," he added. "I was terrified then."

On Dec. 4, 2022, while walking the red carpet for the 45th Kennedy Center Honors, the Clooneys told "Entertainment Tonight" a bit about their twins' talents and personalities. "They have a language that they speak that we don't speak," Amal said (Alexander and Ella speak French and Italian). Meanwhile, George joked about their mischievous senses of humor. "They have some jokes that they play, they're so filthy, I'm not even allowed to tell you," George shared. "Whose contribution do you think this is, in parenting?" Amal asked, to which George jokingly responded, "My wife is filthy. Filthy!"

Today, it seems George and Amal have "formed a real partnership" as parents. On Sept. 2, a source told Us Weekly, they are "taking turns with taking the kids to activities" and "take turns preparing the kids' breakfast and lunches" during their summer in Italy. The insider also shared that the couple's twins are "loving their summer" with their parents, adding that they "take boat rides" and "have a small group of friends in the area their age they have playdates with."

Previously, in a 2017 interview with The Hollywood Reporter, George reflected on fatherhood and opened up about whether he missed his bachelor lifestyle. "I sure don't," he said. "That seems like a lifetime ago. Now my house is filled with the warm sounds of babies crying. You should see when my friends show up and see me change a diaper, the laughter that comes from them. I go, 'I know, I know.' I've given them so much sh*t for so many years, I deserve every bit of it."

Alexander Clooney

George and Amal's son, Alexander, was born on June 6, 2017. In GQ's 2020 profile of his father, the outlet described Alexander as having "a mop of brown hair and chaotic teeth," also adding that he "looks like the son of George and Amal Clooney." He also speaks fluent Italian, which George hilariously described as a "really dumb thing," since neither he nor Amal speak the language. Per George's episode of the "WTF With Marc Maron" podcast, he and his son also have an adorable morning routine. "Alexander every morning, 8 in the morning, bangs on my bedroom door. I go, 'Who is it?' And he goes, 'It is I, Alexander Clooney,'" the actor shared. "I open up the door, he jumps running in, and I laugh out loud."

Ella Clooney

Twin to Alexander, Ella also was born on June 6, 2017. Just like her brother, Ella speaks Italian (the twins also speak two other languages, according to George's September interview with Entertainment Tonight). Though the twins enjoy similar hobbies, George previously told People that his and Amal's daughter is a lot more shy than her brother. "Ella is very shy around adults," he said. "We have a Saint Bernard puppy, Rosie, and she's like 125 lbs. of sheer energy. She got stung by a bee, and now when we walk the dog and hikers go by, Ella kind of hides her face while Alexander walks right up and says, 'Rosie got stung by a bee.' He explains it to every single person."
