It was a busy weekend for Prince George and Princess Charlotte. The siblings arrived at the king's coronation concert on May 7 to round out the crowning of King Charles III [1], waving Union Jack flags, dancing, and cheering on the coronation performers [2], including Lionel Richie and Katy Perry [3].
For the occasion, Charlotte, 8, wore a white dress with an oversize scalloped collar with her hair braided in a half updo, while George, 9, wore a dapper navy suit and tie. The siblings both bowed diligently to their grandfather as he passed to sit in his seat in a video obtained by Hello [4]. They sat in between their parents, the prince and princess of Wales, the latter of whom wore a red Alexander McQueen trouser suit.
As the concert didn't start until 8 p.m. UK time, their youngest son, 5-year-old Prince Louis, wasn't in attendance — although he did make quite the impression a day earlier at the king's coronation ceremony [5] when he made a number of hilarious facial expressions throughout the service. Their uncle Prince Harry attended the ceremony [6] but headed back to the US a few hours later to celebrate his son Prince Archie's fourth birthday.
On Saturday, King Charles III was formally declared the new British monarch [7]. While Prince George wore a traditional red uniform to perform an important role as second in line to the throne [8] at the service, Princess Charlotte matched her mom in a stunning white Alexander McQueen caped dress [9] and a coordinated Jess Collett x Alexander McQueen headpiece.
