Meghan Markle Had to Kiss a Couple of Frogs Before Finding Her Prince Charming
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry officially announced their engagement on Monday, but the actress had to kiss a couple of frogs before finding her Prince Charming. While it's no secret that Meghan was once married, she also dated a celebrity chef. Before Meghan becomes a royal bride, here are the two other men she was linked to prior to Harry.
Meghan first met the film producer in 2004, and they got engaged in 2010 after six years of dating. They wed in September 2011 at the Jamaica Inn in Ocho Rios, Jamaica, though their marriage was short-lived, as they quietly separated in August 2013, citing "irreconcilable differences." According to sources, "things started to fall apart not long after the wedding," and the couple "really battled with long distances." "Trevor was based in LA while Meghan was in Toronto, a five-hour flight away," an insider previously told Women's Day magazine. "It was a very difficult way to start married life."
While the couple never had any children together, Trevor is currently producing a new comedy series about a husband who loses his wife to a British prince. Hmm . . . even though Trevor claims the series is not based on his ex-wife, it's difficult not to see the similarities.
Following her divorce from Trevor, Meghan struck up a romance with the Canadian celebrity chef in 2014. They dated for two years, and in March 2016, Cory even gave his "lady" a sweet shout-out on Twitter after she was named World Vision's Global Ambassador. It's unclear when or why they split, but two months later she met Prince Harry.
Meghan and Harry first laid eyes on each other in Toronto back in May 2016, after being set up by a mutual friend. They secretly dated for a few months before Harry finally confirmed their romance in November 2016, though it wasn't until the following month that we finally saw them together.
Since then, the couple have shared a handful of sweet moments together, including their public debut as a couple at the 2017 Invictus Games and their recent joint interview with BBC. Oh, and in case you haven't heard yet, Meghan and Harry are engaged! The couple are set to tie the knot in the Spring of 2018, so get ready for another royal wedding!
