All of American Horror Story: Cult's Sneaky Little Easter Eggs

American Horror Story: Cult has wrapped up, but we're far from finished with it. One of the most fun things about AHS is finding all the hints and clues that are hiding in plain sight. Sometimes it's a major connection to another season. Sometimes it's as subtle as a recycled classic filming location. Either way, each new find is always something fun, and there are a handful of tantalizing hints that have centered on Cult. Let's dive in, shall we?

Twisty the Clown

Twisty the Clown

The very first episode of Cult gives us a heavy dose of Twisty the Clown. Ally and Ivy's son, Oz, seems to enjoy reading a comic-book series based on the Twisty events we witness in Freak Show, and Winter even gives Oz a Twisty action figure! Later on, Oz has a nightmare in which Twisty the Clown appears in the flesh and chases him down. Sadly, we haven't seen any signs of him since other than Oz's comics.

The Roanoke Hint

The Roanoke Hint

Back before Cult was even announced, Ryan Murphy gave us a subtle tease that we were heading into that territory. In Roanoke, the season that precedes Cult, Dr. Elias Cunningham (Denis O'Hare) says he's been reading a true-crime novel that's "in the vein of Helter Skelter." The title belongs to a book that chronicles the Manson murders of 1969. And, as you now well know, Evan Peters channels Charles Manson at some point in Cult.

Is That You, Tate?

Is That You, Tate?

Once we're deep into the show's seventh season, we witness a horrific mass shooting, pulled off by Meadow, while Kai is speaking at a political rally. Gunfire aside, we couldn't help but notice a totally different, very distracting aspect of the scene. Kai's campaign poster features a picture that looks nothing like Kai. Instead, it looks much more like Tate Langdon, whom Evan Peters portrays in the show's first season. The resemblance is unmistakable.

It's All About the Label
FX

It's All About the Label

One episode of the season gives us a bit of backstory on Detective Samuels, played by Colton Haynes. In one particularly telling scene, Kai goes to the policeman's apartment to make a delivery. A few bottles of wine sit near a stereo, and among them is Michael David Winery's Freakshow Cabernet. Clearly, this was meant to be another (very subtle) nod to the show's fourth season.

A Few More Freak Show Finds

A Few More Freak Show Finds

One of the season's final episodes gives us another glimpse at the Twisty the Clown Chronicles comic books. This issue features three familiar faces: Pepper, Jimmy Darling, and Meep! Just toss in Elsa Mars and Bette and Dot, and then we'll have a real party.

Here's hoping we get a few extra winks before the season completely wraps!
