It's rumored that "Imagine" is a tribute to Grande's ex-boyfriend Mac Miller [5], who died of an accidental overdose in September [6]. While Grande has described her previous track "Thank U, Next" as "self-assured" and "commanding," [7] this latest song draws heavily from vulnerability, an emotion you can definitely recognize in her powerful performance.
