Bachelor Jake Pavelka Proposes to Vienna in the Season Finale, Ali Fedotowsky Named the Next Bachelorette

The Bachelor Finale: Are You Happy With Jake's Decision?

Oh the drama. I wouldn't call the finale of The Bachelor the most "shocking Bachelor ever" — even though Chris Harrison might disagree — but it definitely managed to raise a few eyebrows. As the final rose ceremony came to a close, a very emotional Jake turned away audience favorite Tenley for Vienna. The reason: Jake said that talking with Tenley about marriage didn't "feel right" and that something was off — as opposed to the hot heat he's experienced with Vienna, who was often painted as the villain of the house.

Jake claimed that he had to follow his heart — but will he live to regret the decision? Tenley herself brought up a good point during the After the Final Rose, saying that she questioned his feelings for Vienna if he supposedly felt so strong for Tenley, too. I think it's a valid argument, and time will only tell for sure if these two are headed towards yet another Bachelor wedding like Jason and Molly (we at least know that Jake's headed towards Dancing With the Stars!).

The other big reveal of the evening: Ali will indeed be the next Bachelorette as many of you expected and were hoping. I'm already looking forward to that new season, but for now, let's discuss Jake. Share your excitement — or vent your frustration! — over his choice here.

I only watched the last episode... knew he was going to pick Vienna but for all the wrong reasons. The hubby kept saying "he likes her boobs, that is all". LOL apparently he was right.

These Bachelor dudes always pick the girls they just want to sleep with, and then once they get back to real life, they always break up. So silly. Jake revealed himself to be kind of a weirdo anyway, so, I think he and Vienna definitely deserve each other.

I completely agree with redchick. Jake is a very boring person who doesn't really know who he is himself...something about him just comes across very strangely. But he is very wholesome, and that is why I thought that someone like Tenley would be good for him. On the other hand, Tenley is a very wholesome, sweet person, and it is very genuine. I think she will find someone that is a better fit for her, and who knows how to choose a WIFE, not a fling.

i agree w/ silver girls! i think jake is smitten for the moment. he was the nerdy guy and never got the chance to have a fun, carefree relationship in his 20's. he's said several times that V makes him feel young again. i think V is going to get bored (b/c jake is a big LAME-O!) or jake will realize he needs someone more mature (and not a gold-digger/daddy's girl!) i don't think tenley was right either. that girl is not over her past relationship. and guy wants to hear you cry over another guy...over and over again! she's a sweetheart, but just not ready and i think jake knew that a long time ago. he should have eliminated her a few eps back. poor thing had her heart broken AGAIN! i'm pretty excited that ali is the bachelorette. she was my favorite all season. she's outspoken and she won't put up w/ any crap like jillian did.

I did not like this.

She is too immature to sustain a real relationship with someone that is going to be gone so much. Right now she is caught up in all of the trappings of the show. When reality sets in and he is gone for weeks at time as a pilot and she sees that it is not all vacations and expensive dinners , she will show her true colors. Didn't anyone notice that when he was showing her the engagement ring that was the only thing she was looking at and not at him? She is a spoiled 'daddy's' girl that probably doesn't even know how to keep house or cook. When the lust runs out he will see that too.

Vienna seems like a good time, but I'd still rather see him with somebody pretty.

I disagree, I think Jake actually had some pretty valid reasons (as valid as they can be on a reality show) for picking Vienna. Vienna devoted her attention to Jake rather than on the other girls and made him feel important. What I don't understand is the audience's fondness for Tenley. She's pretty physically attractive, but that voice? She comes off as a bit phony, and it seems as though she's fridgid. Jake said he felt no physical chemistry with her, and at the end of the day, that's pretty important.

Jake is gay anyways. He wouldn't have been a good match for any woman.

The Bachelor has been my and my best friend's guilty pleasure since it started! We watched most of the episodes this season and were disappointed from the start. I feel like Jake wasn't actually looking for a wife, just publicity. He claimed to want a wife with morals, maturity, and natural beauty. Vienna? Just the stuff she's admitted to (quickie wedding in Vegas and subsequent divorce), and her actions on the show (modeling lingerie, you know you're being filmed, right?) not even getting into all the tabloid fodder makes it clear she does not hold herself to a high moral standard! Add to that that she is her 'daddy's princess', with bleached blond hair, and the intellect of a toadstool... I predict a break-up where he milks it for all the publicity he can.

I haven't truly watched after the first episode of the bachelor dude kept getting topless (not that I mind the eye candy ;) ). I did get to see the last 2 girls, as I recall, Vienna was actually the less attractive one (completely my opinion), but somewhat, the bachelor kept mentioning how she's disliked by the roommates. What did she do exactly to warrant the 'villain' status? Not surprised about him not choosing Tenley, the one from Oregon (woot woot hometown!), she kept talking about her ex in her voice-over (so weird).
