This week on The Bachelorette [1], we saw JoJo Fletcher have hometown dates with her last four guys [2]. Each one gave a better picture of where each contestant came from, their family, and some of the biggest struggles they face. It looks like some of them made JoJo fall harder for the men, while others might have turned her off. So how did each date rank? Here are the four hometown dates rated from worst to best!
Robby Hayes
- What went right: He had one big happy family to greet the two of them. JoJo sat down alone with his mother, and she was able to show that Robby's openness isn't fake. They are pretty close, which is a plus.
- What went wrong: His ex came up a lot, which spoiled the night. His mother revealed that his ex's roommate said Robby dumped his girlfriend to be on the show. He went right to JoJo to tell her about the rumor, so she really laid down the hammer to get the truth out of him. He said it's not true, but JoJo might never feel sure because of how recent this breakup was.
Jordan Rodgers
- What went right: Jordan wasn't short on people to talk him up. He not only brought JoJo around his family but his high school too. Everyone was so nice, and the two kissed a lot on their date.
- What went wrong: JoJo asked specifically if she should mention Aaron when she meets his family and he said no. But of course she did anyways! She talked to his other brother, Luke, about how Jordan is hurt about not talking to Aaron. Luke also talked around the situation, saying it's sad but he hopes God brings things full circle. JoJo might have walked away from the date wondering why no one will talk about the drama with Aaron [3].
Luke Pell
- What went right: No baggage was really brought to this date, as opposed to all the others. Luke also got the most romantic alone time with her by putting down flower petals in a heart shape and candles. JoJo is also from Texas, so she looked like she felt right at home with Luke.
- What went wrong: One thing you probably shouldn't do the first time you bring someone home is ambush them with 50 friends! But Luke did it, and it looked overwhelming for JoJo. Also, it was very obvious that Luke wanted to tell JoJo that he loved her. But when the time came with candles and flowers, he completely choked! Instead, he told her that she had his heart, which just isn't enough at this point. Luckily, he tried to right this wrong by saying it at the rose ceremony.
Chase McNary
- What went right: Chase has been more closed off than others, and we found out why this week. His parents' divorce did a number on him, but he showed personal growth talking to his family. JoJo witnessed all of that and was probably given hope from hearing him talk about his pain but also his feelings for her.
- What went wrong: He actually spent the least time with JoJo because he spent so much alone time with each parent. It was good because we got to see where Chase was coming from and his growth. But JoJo might not feel like the two connected as much as the others.
