In an interesting turn of events, FX show The Bastard Executioner was canceled by its own creator [1], Sons of Anarchy mastermind [2] Kurt Sutter, after only one season. Kurt took out a full-page ad [3] in The Hollywood Reporter to announce the news, citing audience disinterest as the main reason for his "heartbreaking" decision to end the medieval drama. "It's fantastic to get a good review [or] an award, but at the end of the day the only thing that matters, really, is numbers," he explained. "I don't want to write something that nobody's f*cking watching." While this is certainly a sad day for fans of the show, here's hoping there's much more TV brilliance to come from Kurt in the future.
