Cate Blanchett's Oscars Acceptance Speech 2014

You Know You Want to Watch Cate Blanchett Tell Julia Roberts to #SuckIt Again

Cate Blanchett is quickly becoming my new first choice for a celebrity best friend. The Blue Jasmine star casually picked up her Oscar for best actress after a full-on award season sweep. It was great that she won for her incomparable performance, but even better than that, her speech totally ruled. She honored some of her competitors, like Amy Adams, but then she just said, "Julia, #SuckIt." In the press room, Blanchett (kind of) explained: "It happened in the bar with Mr. Roberts, and that's all I'm prepared to say." This year's scorecard: Cate Blanchett, 1. Julia Roberts, 0.
