Gilmore Girls [1]: A Year in the Life packs a hell of a lot into its four episodes. We finally discover who Rory (Alexis Bledel) ends up with [2], what those mysterious last four words [3] are, and that there might be future episodes [4] on the way. On top of all that, creator Amy Sherman-Palladino also manages to squeeze in a ton of celebrity cameos, from former Parenthood stars [5] to a few iconic musicians. Rachael Ray
In "Spring," the Food Network chef plays herself while attempting to convince Lorelai that a pop-up kitchen at the Dragonfly Inn is a good idea.
Peter Krause
Lauren Graham's former Parenthood costar (and real-life boyfriend) Peter Krause appears in "Fall" as a by-the-books park ranger who won't let Lorelai hike a trail when she's "doing Wild."
Sutton Foster
Although not everyone was a fan of the lengthy scenes featuring Stars Hollow: The Musical in "Summer," at least they're led by Broadway and Younger [7] alum Sutton Foster, who also played the lead in Sherman-Palladino's other show, Bunheads.
Christian Borle
Foster's costar in Stars Hollow: The Musical is played by Christian Borle, who has plenty of stage experience both on Broadway and as a former lead in Smash (he also happens to be Foster's ex-husband).
Jason Ritter
Parenthood actor Jason Ritter pops up in "Fall" as Mark, another park ranger who Lorelai comes across while pulling a Cheryl Strayed.
Alex Kingston
If you think the frazzled, frizzy-haired subject of the biography Rory's writing looks familiar, you're not alone. The great Alex Kingston, of Doctor Who and ER fame, first appears as Rory's "hellion-in-arms" in "Winter."
Gregg Henry
The Scandal star reprises his role as Logan's dad, Mitchum Huntzberger, in "Spring."
Sebastian Bach
He might be the lead singer of Skid Row off screen, but Sebastian Bach happily returns to sing backup for Lane and Zack's band, Hep Alien, in "Winter."
Paul Anka
In "Spring," Lorelai dreams that she sees singer Paul Anka (her dog's namesake) in different places around her home.
Carole King
Not only did Carole King provide the theme music for the original series, but she also returned for A Year in the Life to reprise her role as Stars Hollow record store owner Sophie Bloom. In "Summer," she becomes a member of the advisory committee overseeing Stars Hollow: The Musical.
Louise Goffin
Remember that scene in "Winter" when the town's resident outdoor singer-songwriter chases off some competition? Well, the competing acoustic guitarist is actually King's daughter Louise Goffin, who is responsible for the other vocals you hear in "Where You Lead" when it opens the original episodes of the show.
Roy Choi
Korean American chef Roy Choi [9], who is credited with kicking off our nationwide obsession with food trucks, is the first chef to try to get Lorelai on board with the idea of a pop-up kitchen at the Dragonfly in "Winter."

Ray Wise has been on everything from The Young and the Restless to Fresh Off the Boat and gives a funny speech about the good ol' days with Richard during a flashback to the Gilmore patriarch's funeral in "Winter."
