Chrissy Metz is known for acting on This Is Us [1], but she's also a very talented singer. Though she's given us a glimpse of her singing voice on the hit drama, she made her live singing debut at the Academy of Country Music Awards [2] on Sunday night. Metz blew everyone away as she performed "I'm Standing With You" from the soundtrack of her new movie, Breakthrough, alongside Carrie Underwood [3].
Just like her This Is Us character, Kate, Metz has had a passion for singing for a long time. When POPSUGAR talked with the actress in March, she admitted that Kate's desire to chase her dreams and become a musician has actually inspired her in her own life [4]. "We both were never encouraged or supported about that," she said. "What's cool is that I don't think she ever did it because she wanted to be some major star. She just wanted to express her feelings. That's how I feel about music. When I finish an EP or an album, if one person shows up, great. If 200 people [show up], great. I will sing by myself because I enjoy it."
