Celebrate the 12 Days of GIFmas

It's the most wonderful time of the year: time to watch as many Christmas movies as you can until you're physically unable to continue! We've decided it might be best to ease you into it, so instead of making you watch the films in their entirety, we've rounded up the most GIF-worthy moments of 12 classic, wonderful Christmas movies.

12. Love Actually

There are so many different story lines in Love Actually, which means at least one of them is going to mirror your own holiday experience. Basically, it's fitting for any mood you're in, from down in the dumps to head in the clouds.

11. Elf

There's no way you're going to get through this movie without laughing. And if you do somehow manage to make it through chuckle-free, then you're just a regular Scrooge.

10. Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer

Aside from the fact that the terrifying abominable snowman gave me years and years of nightmares, I watched this one countless times as a kid.

9. The Muppet Christmas Carol

Come on. It's the Muppets. What else do you need? Plus, this specific moment embodies almost every dietary moment of the holiday season.

8. The Holiday

It totally nails that whole "hopeless romantic" thing. Also, when's a good time to talk about those houses?

7. A Charlie Brown Christmas

First of all, it's unquestionably heartwarming. Secondly, don't pretend like you didn't try to mimic those sweet dance moves at least once in your life.

6. The Nightmare Before Christmas

Nothing captures the magic of the holiday season like Jack Skellington stumbling upon Christmas Town for the first time. All the wonderment matches perfectly with that of anyone's first Christmas and — let's be real — all Christmases thereafter.

5. It's a Wonderful Life

It's one of those undeniably classic Christmas movies that gets played every year and referenced all the time. I can't be the only one who remembers that really weird Rugrats episode.

4. A Christmas Story

In my opinion, this is one of the most quotable Christmas movies ever. Plus, the holidays are all about dysfunctional family drama, and the sexy leg lamp, the "pink nightmare" gift from Aunt Clara, and the mall Santa do a wonderful job of epitomizing all of the emotionally scarring Christmas cheer.

3. The Santa Clause

I never thought I'd say this, but I'm so glad Tim Allen accidentally kills Santa.

2. How the Grinch Stole Christmas

While the animated film is a classic, no one embodies the Grinch better than Jim Carrey. Don't even ask about my favorite part — too many to count.

1. Home Alone

It's Christmas and your childhood fantasy all rolled into one! Who doesn't want to have the house to themselves and eat pizza in a limousine?
