Dana Carvey Developing New Sketch Comedy Show For Fox

Dana Carvey Returning to Sketch Comedy

Now, isn't this special? Maybe I'm just a Dana Carvey nerd at heart, but I'm feeling a little giddy over today's news that he's working on a sketch comedy show for Fox. Carvey is developing the series with Spike Feresten, the former Seinfeld writer whom he also partnered with on the failed The Dana Carvey Show.

I'm crossing my fingers that this second try fares better. Ever since MADtv got pulled from the airwaves (and Saturday Night Live is hit or miss), we could use some fresh, funny skits on television. Carvey gave SNL some of its most memorable characters, so I feel like this new program is in trusted hands. Maybe he could even try that hair-band wig back on as Garth. Party on.
