Derek Hough is no stranger to live performance. After all, he's appeared on more than his fair share of Dancing With the Stars [1] seasons, and has danced professionally in countless other projects. That's why it came as no surprise when Hough joined the cast of Hairspray Live! [2], TV's latest live-action musical presentation: he's perfect for the role of charismatic TV host Corny Collins. As luck would have it, he's not the only Hough to make an onscreen Broadway debut. As you might remember, Julianne Hough got her groove on in Grease: Live [3], which aired on Fox earlier this year.

In preparation for our trip back to the soothing sounds of the '60s, we visited the set of Hairspray Live! to talk to Derek Hough about his big role. During the round-table discussion, we couldn't help but pose the question: did he get any tips from his equally talented sister? "Her tip was her example," Hough explained. "Her example of how much she enjoyed the process, and seeing her, and seeing how happy she was, and seeing how much she had a great time. It was like, that was the tip." I mean, it doesn't get much cuter than that, right? Hairspray Live! airs on Dec. 7 at 8 p.m. on NBC.
