Desperate Housewives Rundown, "Being Alive"

Desperate Housewives Rundown, "Being Alive"

This week's episode of Desperate Housewives follows the residents of Wisteria Lane as they deal with the aftermath of Julie's attack. At the epicenter, Susan's friendships with the housewives are tested (though most of the betrayals happen behind her back). Meanwhile, the newest neighbors find their son on the list of primary suspects and Mrs. McCluskey lands a new love.

There were scandals all over the place this week, so to talk about it just

Susan — Susan's post-wedding morning bliss with Mike is quickly interrupted by Mrs McCluskey screams. As she faces the possibility of losing her daughter, Susan turns to her friends for comfort. In typical fashion, all the ladies have got their secrets — Lynette admits that Julie confided in her, Bree is sleeping with Carl, and Katherine's throwing herself at Mike.

Lynette — Still in denial about her pregnancy, Julie's accident turns out to play a vital role in Lynette's decision-making process. I was surprised that she's seriously considering having an abortion, but relieved that Susan used her own situation to talk her out of it. Most of all, I'm glad that Lynette is facing the truth from here on in, since pretending her pregnancy isn't real was starting to get depressing.

Gaby — I'm loving Gaby's new life with a teenager. Her guidance on playing hard to get cracked me up, particularly when poor Carlos realizes how many dates Gaby broke off for no real reason. Bonding time between Gaby and Ana never lasts long though, and by the end of the episode Gaby is grounding Ana for lying to the police about Danny's alibi. Though Ana continues to push Gaby's limits, so far her actions haven't strayed far from the typical high school realm — but I'm willing to bet it won't be long before things get out of hand.

Angie — Like any good wife and mother, Angie struggles to protect her family from both the police and the scrutinizing eyes of their neighbors on Wisteria Lane. She spends most of the episode trying to prove that Danny is innocent in Julie's attack, but I'm more worried about her husband than her son.

Katherine — Katherine finds a new confidant in Orson this week, trying to convince him that she's going to get Mike back. Orson has done some questionable things in the past, but even he doesn't fall for Katherine's deluded re-telling of what happened while Susan was at the hospital. Now that Bree's moved on, how long before Orson and Katherine end up in the sack?

Bree — Bree's discovering that Carl can bring out a whole side of her she never knew she had — a bad girl side. Not only do Carl's sleazy ways turn her on, but she realizes a bit too late that she's become a bad friend to Susan. Now the real question is whether or not Julie will remember catching Bree and Carl in the act when she wakes up from her coma.

What did you think of this week's episode? Who do you think is behind the attack on Julie? (My money's still on Mr. Bolen). Are you excited to see Jesse Metcalfe's return?

Yeah, I'm not sure who would strangle Julie. I thought we saw Danny's back as he walked away away from her at the end of the first episode, but maybe I'm imagining things. I think it would be great if Katherine and Orson hooked up! I see a lot more chemistry between them than I saw between Katherine and Mike. Fixe - We never saw Julie tell Lynette that she might be pregnant. I wonder who the father of the baby would be...

I was shocked but totally impressed with the scene between Lynette and Susan. I actually was impressed with Terri Hatcher's acting chops for a minute, and the first time on this show. It was actually moving! We never saw Julie confide in Lynette. I have no idea who did it! Danny would be too obvious..

when lynette said, julie was pregnant i thought she made it up, or maybe i missed it, but i don't remember Julie confronting Lynetter about a pregnancy, maybe i just missed it. but i like new season.

I actually think it's the husband of the new family (he's out to "search" for his son....), follow by the second suspect Katherine. OK, don't hate on me, but I actually don't know why Lynette HAVE to have the children. First of all, I'm so sick of her immature and selfish husband. He is in school, but does he stop to think about the burdens (financial, emotional, physical) that his wife is experiencing? Yes, abortion in this case means taking the lives of 2 children, but the case makes Lynette into a monster of just even thinking about it. Also, sick of Katherine being a useless character on the show. Remember she used to have one? Now she's just this crazy stalker, it's even worse than last season when they don't use her at all. Yes, you get dumped, get on with your life! The only thing that's keeping me watching this show is Gaby and her one-liners. Also love watching the new Bree, but otherwise, this show is getting old......:(

I know it's pretty far fetched (but then again, this is Desperate Housewives), but maybe they're bringing Zack back? He's a creepy stalker, and that would definitely be a "complicated" relationship for Julie.

That's true. I guess I just keep thinking back to the first season, when there was an actual "mystery" and they had interesting twists and turns.

Kim that would be obvious, but this show has been pretty obvious, so I think it is Danny.

I was wondering where the whole Katherine pregnancy comment came from, too, zeze. I'm glad you said something so I didn't think it was just me! Anyway, I thought that, overall, last night's episode was pretty good. I liked the interactions between Lynette and Susan-they felt very authentic. And I'm curious to know about what's really going on with Julie. I'm not sure who strangled her (although it did cross my mind that Katherine might somehow be involved), however, I'm 99% sure it wasn't Danny. That would just be way to obvious.

ummm...where did u get that Katherine is pregnant from? This show is sooo boring, all the story lines are recycled 3 times over...I got up to make pancakes half way through because I was so bored. I mean Lynett and pregnancy and money/job issues b/c of pregnancy. Bree and marital problems. Eva dealing with the same tired storyline of a trouble teenager that pops out of nowhere. Susan and the whole attacked kid thing...I mean come on, that was the finale last season! And don't get me started on the new neighbors with the dark secret... This show has jumped the shark about a thousand times.

Is Katherine really pregnant or is she just faking to break up Susan and Mike.

Does anyone else think that there is a chance that Katherine attacked Julie? She seems completely set on destroying Susan's happiness, so I do not put it past her.
