The season seven premiere of Game of Thrones is still months away [1], so in the meantime, HBO has graciously given fans their first taste of what's to come: an official poster. OK, OK, yes, it's just a poster (which was released during the SXSW Festival on Wednesday), but the fire vs. ice theme appears to be a clear allusion to the budding rivalry (or relationship?) between Jon Snow [2] and Daenerys Targaryen [3], both of whom will compete for their spot on the Iron Throne [4] (along with Tyrion, maybe [5]?). Then again, as you might remember from the season six finale [6], Dany and her dragons are on their way to Westeros, while the Night's King and his terrifying army of wights and White Walkers [7] are getting closer to the Wall. Who knows what season seven holds for sure [8], but it seems like a dragon vs. White Walker showdown is imminent.
