19 Movies the Game of Thrones Stars Were in Together

Jul 10 2016 - 9:00am

The Game of Thrones [1] cast just can't get enough of each other. They've been hanging out off the set [2], dating each other [3], and even starring in other projects with one another. In fact, Nathalie Emmanuel (aka Missandei) and Kristofer Hivju (aka Tormund Giantsbane) are both starring in 2017's Fast 8. Now that season six has come to an end, we've rounded up a bunch of movies featuring two or more Game of Thrones cast members. Some crossovers you probably know about (like Star Wars: Episode VII — The Force Awakens), but I can almost guarantee there are a few in here you've never heard about. Take a look!

Me Before You

Of course you know Emilia Clarke stars in the tearjerker, but it's worth noting that Charles Dance, formerly known as Tywin Lannister, plays Will's (Sam Claflin) absentee father.

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay — Part 2

Natalie Dormer reprised her role as Cressida from Part 1, but the second time around, Gwendoline Christie joined her as Commander Lyme.

Star Wars: Episode VII — The Force Awakens

Speaking of Christie, she had a role in The Force Awakens as Captain Phasma. Also in the mega-blockbuster? Max von Sydow (who plays the Three-Eyed Raven on Game of Thrones' season six) as Lor San Tekka and Thomas Brodie-Sangster in a blink-and-you-missed-it role as a First Order officer [4].

Chatroom

This 2010 drama is filled with future Game of Thrones stars: Richard Madden (Robb), Hannah Murray (Gilly), and Michelle Fairley (Catelyn) all appeared.

Pompeii

You may remember Kit Harington's abs in 2014's Pompeii, but did you connect the dots that Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, who played Atticus in the movie, also popped up on two episodes of Game of Thrones as Malko?

Pixels

Not only did Peter Dinklage star alongside Adam Sandler [5] in the 2005 comedy Pixels, but Sean Bean (Ned Stark) also appeared as Corporal Hill.

Dom Hemingway

Both Emilia Clarke and Richard E. Grant (who will turn up on season six of Game of Thrones [6]) appeared in this 2013 comedy with Jude Law [7].

Child 44

If you saw 2015's Child 44, you may have caught Jonathan Pryce (the High Sparrow) and Charles Dance (Tywin Lannister) in the historical drama.

The Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials

Thomas Brodie-Sangster has starred in both Maze Runner movies, and Aiden Gillen (aka Petyr "Littlefinger" Baelish) popped up in the second film as Janson.

Clash of the Titans

Sam Worthington [8] is the star of this 2010 action film, but Rory McCann and Liam Cunningham also appeared. Perhaps that's where The Hound picked up his sword skills?

Scoop

Woody Allen [9]'s 2006 crime caper features a ton of stars. Among them are Ian McShane (one of the new additions to Game of Thrones [10]) and Julian Glover, whom you may know as Grand Maester Pycelle.

The Harry Potter Films

The many crossovers between Game of Thrones and the Harry Potter films [11] are well-documented, but just as a refresher, they include David Bradley (pictured), Michelle Fairley, Julian Glover, Natalia Tena, and Freddie Stroma. The latter will be showing up on season six [12]!

The Numbers Station

This 2013 thriller is perfectly forgettable, but here's a fun fact: Liam Cunningham and Richard Brake, who plays the Night's King [13], both appear in it.

Kingdom of Heaven

Both Nikolaj Coster-Waldau and Iain Glen (aka Jorah Mormont) are in this 2005 action movie set in the 12th century.

Pride and Prejudice and Zombies

Lena Headey and Charles Dance both appeared in the 2016 film version of Seth Grahame-Smith's Pride and Prejudice and Zombies [14].

Patient Zero

Natalie Dormer and John Bradley are both starring in this thriller alongside Matt Smith, Clive Standen, and Stanley Tucci. It'll be out in September, so stay tuned for a trailer!

Low Down

Peter Dinklage and Lena Headey are both in this 2014 period drama, which stars Elle Fanning and John Hawkes. Bonus: Dinklage and Headey also costarred in a 2006 TV movie called Ultra.

Black Butterflies

Liam Cunningham and Carice van Houten (Melisandre) costarred in this 2011 true story about poet Ingrid Jonker.

Black Book

Here's a weird one. In 2006, Carice van Houten and Michiel Huisman both starred in WWII drama called Black Book.
