Gerard Butler [1] has landed a major role in the remake of '90s classic Point Break, and his new job isn't the only one making headlines this week. Aubrey Plaza, Bruce Willis [2], and other stars have new movie roles this week, so check out all the casting highlights now.
Bruce Willis will star in Captive [3], a thriller in which he'll play a man who's kidnapped and held for ransom in Brazil.
Olivia Thirlby has been cast in The White Orchid [4] as the lead. She's playing a woman investigating a murder.
William Hurt will play Gregg Allman [5] in the Allman brothers biopic titled Midnight Rider.
Gerard Butler is in talks for the Point Break remake [6]. He would play the character originated by Patrick Swayze in the 1991 surfing/crime cult classic.
Aubrey Plaza has joined Mortdecai [7], the action comedy starring Johnny Depp [8]. Oliver Platt and Jeff Goldblum have also joined.
Rebel Wilson joined Night at the Museum 3 [9], in which she'll play a night guard at the British museum where the film is set. Wilson will also star in He's F***ing Perfect [10], as Amanda Seyfried [11]'s roommate.
Glenn Close will star in Duchess [12] as Anna Anderson, the woman who claimed to be the Grand Russian Duchess Anastasia.
James Marsden will replace Paul Walker [13] in The Best of Me, an adaptation of a Nicholas Sparks novel. The story follows two former sweethearts who return in their hometown for the funeral of a friend and old sparks reignite.
Kristen Wiig will costar with Alexander Skarsgard [14] in The Diary of a Teenage Girl, a coming-of-age drama set in 1970s San Francisco.
