Creator Ryan Murphy has confirmed that the next season of Glee will be the show's last. "The whole [last] year of the show — which will be next year — was really designed around Rachel and Cory/Finn's story. I always knew that. I always knew how it would end," Murphy said at an FX event at the Paley Center this week. Murphy went on to tell reporters that Cory Monteith's death in July means more to the show's story than just dedicating a tribute episode to Finn Hudson: "I knew what the last shot was — he was in it. I knew what the last line was; she said it to him. So when a tragedy like that happens, you sort of have to pause and figure out what you want to do." Though Murphy didn't mention how exactly his plans have changed for the series finale, he did say, "I think it's very satisfactory and kind of in his honor, which I love."
