Fox's New Batman Show Looks Really Dark and Really Good

We know it's been close to a decade since The O.C. was on, but we'll always think of Ben McKenzie as Ryan Atwood — and root for him as such. That's why we're so excited to see him in the trailer for Fox's new Fall 2014 series Gotham, a Batman prequel in which he plays Detective James Gordon. McKenzie is channeling a character more similar to his Southland persona as the tough policeman in the gritty city, and I have to say: this show looks incredible. It's dark, evocative, and more like the Christopher Nolan Batman series in tone. The Batman here is the young boy who's dealing with his parents' murder, but he's less of a focus than the city and its protectors, like Gordon and Detective Harvey Bullock (played by Donal Logue). Jada Pinkett Smith also stars. Gotham is one of the few new shows that has already been ordered to series for the Fall, so get a peek at one of the early offerings now.
