No matter how many of us cringed and rolled our eyes in the face of The Hangover Part II, Todd Phillips and the cast are certainly getting the last laugh. After another solid weekend at the box office, the sequel just became the highest-grossing R-rated comedy of all time worldwide, taking in $488 million. (The record was formerly held by the original Hangover.)
I can't say I'm surprised that the hit comedy retained its loyal fan base, but I thought poor reviews may have held the film back from surpassing the original. Did you expect the sequel to garner this much success?
