Holiday Gifts For Teens

Kick-Ass is a great DVD choice for any teen ($19). It's pretty violent so you should probably save it for the older boys, but the fun twist on the superhero genre is something they'll definitely dig. If he's more old school, try this Catcher in the Rye t-shirt ($28), which salutes the quintessential troubled teen, Holden Caulfield.

For the ladies, there's The Carrie Diaries by Candace Bushnell ($14), but she may also be into Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater ($9). The hot series is basically Twilight with werewolves, so she'll totally get caught up in the whole star-crossed lovers thing.

If you're looking for something a little pricier, how about an iPod nano? The 16GB model ($179) holds roughly 4000 songs with Multi-Touch, so they can tap through whatever they want to listen to. My suggestion is Rihanna's newest album, Loud ($10), which is full of fun jams. Lastly, Adam Sandler fans will like this SNL: The Best of Adam Sandler collection ($14). They'll like seeing the vintage skits they're probably not familiar with, and you'll enjoy reliving some of SNL's heyday.

as a teenager, i think i'd only be remotely interested in two of these-Kick Ass, which was a pretty good movie, but nothing to really foam at the mouth about, and Shiver, which i've seen some of my friends reading. personally, i'd also suggest the new My Chemical Romance CD (hoping that it's good of course), a funny, smart shirt (look around at Threadless, they seem to have some good stuff), the book _Storm_Theif_, something cool and techie (like a USB powered singular can drink cooler or a really, really awesome flashdrive, since they're practically required for school now), a Relient K CD, or a cool scarf (i've got one that's printed like yellow police tape). really i think it depends mostly on the person like any other age group, but with us i think you couldn't really go wrong with something really interesting and unique (like the scarf or a flashdrive that looks like a cute panda or is a transformer).
