When he's not busy getting fast or furious, Paul Walker has been making Hours, a drama in which he stars as a new father who finds himself in the middle of a nightmare when Hurricane Katrina strikes. His wife (Genesis Rodriguez) goes into labor weeks early, and judging by the pained look on Walker's face, she dies while giving birth. He's strapped with keeping his newborn daughter alive when the storm hits and the hospital is abandoned. He attaches a temporary generator, but he has to wind it every three minutes in order to keep her life support working, making him kind of like Jason Statham in Crank but way more tragic.
Honestly, I'd watch Walker peel paint off a wall, but this is intensely depressing. I like the desperate father angle, but I'm confused about whether this falls under the drama category or whether it's an action movie (helicopters!). Are you into it? Hours hits theaters Dec. 13, and you can watch the trailer after the jump.
