Why Jon and Daenerys Should Stop Eye-Sexing and Just Get Together on Game of Thrones

After that sexy cave scene on this week's Game of Thrones, that feeling that rose up when Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen first laid eyes on each other totally intensified: that these two need to get together. Besides just the fact that he's hot, she's hot, and, oh, they're totally destined for one another, the showrunners also confirmed that it wasn't just your imagination that the cave was hotter than Drogon's breath. During episode four's Inside the Episode clip, David Benioff casually mentioned that things are getting complicated between them because "they're starting to be attracted to each other."
As they keep warming to each other even more, we find ourselves getting impatient to see them as a couple. Yes, they are technically related, but besides that not really being a big deal in Westeros, their marriage could unite the people in the way they both hope. After all, Daenerys keeps asking Jon to bend the knee, and we hope he does . . . in the form of a marriage proposal. Here are all the reasons, sexy and sensical, that this marriage needs to happen.

She Needs His People's Support, and He Needs Her Army to Defeat the White Walkers
Jon came to Dragonstone to get Daenerys's army to help him (and all that dragonglass), and Daenerys really needs him to convince his people that she's the rightful ruler. These are the two strong pillars of this world that need to unite in order for the common good to be achieved — i.e., giving Westeros a just ruler and keeping the whole place from being annihilated by White Walkers forever. North plus South; it's the ultimate alliance.

The Northern People Would Accept a Southern Queen . . . If She Were Their King's Wife
In the caves, Jon tells Daenerys that his people would never accept a Southern ruler; that may be, but they would if she were married to the king in the North. That would be the ultimate legitimacy, beyond simply bending the knee to her. It's the ultimate union and, again, the "song of ice and fire" that George R. R. Martin himself named his book series after.

These Are the 2 Leaders Who Have Defied All Odds
Contextual reasons aside, this is the pairing fans deserve. Not because everyone has been shipping this couple, but because these are the two characters we have collectively championed the most as leaders for the whole series. She has the name but loses everything, then builds herself back up; he has no name as a bastard, also loses everything (including his life), then builds himself up to a king. They have earned these leadership positions, and we, as fans of them both, should not have to choose between them. These two sharing the Iron Throne is the only thing that's fair.
Oh, and All This Sexual Tension
You could cut the sexual tension in that cave with a Valyrian steel knife. This is real, and if you're not on board, you're on the wrong side of Game of Thrones history. Listen, these two have been through a lot, including the loss of each of their first, true loves. Don't they deserve to be happy again?!
