Keith Urban just blessed us with a cover of Taylor Swift's "Lover," [1] and now we won't rest until the two talented artists team up for a duet. On Sept. 1, Urban melted hearts when he crooned Swift's hit single at the Washington State Fair — without rehearsing, might I add. His smooth-as-melted-butter vocals [2] added a subtle country twist to the pop hit song as he strummed the electric guitar and his band played in the background.
While sharing a snippet of his performance on Twitter [3], the 51-year-old artist wrote, "Every now and then you hear a song that you love and wish you'd written . . . and a HUGE thx to my band as well- we didn't get to rehearse so . . . this is us fully winging it." Just a few hours later, Swift herself caught wind of the beautiful cover, which she reposted on Twitter [4], writing, "MY HEART EXPLODED INTO CONFETTI HEARTS THANK YOU."

This isn't the first time Urban has expressed his deep admiration for "Lover." Back in August when Swift first released the single [8], Urban tweeted, "Huge shoutout today to @taylorswift13 on the SUPERB new single LOVER. When a song so exquisitely written becomes a record so gorgeously crafted I feel such a deep sense of gratitude for the 'art' of making music." We stan two musical gods fangirling over one another!
