Mad Men Season Five Will Not Return Until Late 2011 or 2012

Say It Isn't So! Mad Men Season 5 May Not Debut Until 2012

It's sad, but true: if you've been hankering to get your Mad Men fix, you may end up waiting until 2012. Though the series would normally begin filming new episodes around this time of the year, reported disputes over money between AMC, Lionsgate, and creator Matthew Weiner are holding up production. That means we may not see Don's new married life or Joan's bun in the oven until late this year or early next. Here's hoping the matter gets resolved quickly; until then, let the Facebook campaigns begin!

Well to be fair, MM is probably the one show that put AMC on the map as far as quality programming is concerned. So wanting to be compensated for that is only natural. I read an article about Matt Weiner and the production team in Vanity Fair a while back, and it takes a really, really long time to make an episode of MM. They want to get every last detail correct historically. I don't think anyone there is concerned about depriving the viewers (because most fans are willing to wait for new episodes), they're more concerned about making sure it's as close to perfect as possible.

What is Mat Weiner doing? He'd rather deprive his viewership so he can get even more money? This is so unnecessary for a show as classy as this.

NO! This makes me so sad.
