Relationships on Grey's Anatomy [1] are a complex and fragile thing. Everyone is connected to one another in some way, whether it's through work, family, or sex. However, the most shocking relationship surfaces in season 10 when it's revealed that Maggie Pierce is the love child of Ellis Grey and Richard Webber. That makes her, you guessed it, Meredith's half-sister.
Now, aside from Cristina, Meredith's relationships with women on the show have been mostly distant, even strained. Just look at what happens with her other half-sister, Lexie; they're never close. The revelation that Meredith's mother had a child with her secret lover and that the child would be working with her is a little too much for Meredith. It's safe to say she and Maggie don't get off to the greatest of starts, but they work through it and seem to be in a good place . . . or are they? Season 12 ended with a cliffhanger that could cause a rift between the sisters. Will Meredith pursue Riggs even though Maggie likes him? We'll have to wait till Sept. 22 to find out! What will Meredith do? We'll just have to wait and see.
