My Big Friggin' Wedding Trailer From VH1

Why I'm Excited to Watch My Big Friggin' Wedding

I wasn't that enthused about VH1's new show My Big Friggin' Wedding — a reality series that will follow the wedding planning of Jersey Shore-esque denizens — until I watched the trailer. If these three minutes of fighting, fist-pumping, and drunkenness can fill up an entire series, I'm so in when it debuts Nov. 1.

Here's why:

  • Five words: True Life: I'm Getting Married. My favorite True Life episode of all time features some of the most epic wedding planning I've ever seen, and I've wished multiple times that one installment had been an entire series. My Big Friggin' Wedding may be that show.
  • The Jersey Shore factor isn't just geographical (most of the couples are, in fact, from New Jersey); the producers of the MTV show also have showrunning duties for My Big Friggin' Wedding. That bodes well for those of us who can't stop watching Jersey Shore.
  • A good wedding show has drama, but unlike Bridezillas, this one actually looks funny. Sample line: "Megin is marrying a douchebag. And I'm paying for it." Classic.

I know I sound like a cranky old mom, but life's too short to commit hours of precious life to watching people treating each other with utter disrespect and acting like trash.
