If you're not obsessed with On My Block yet, it's safe to say you will be soon. The half-hour coming-of-age comedy from Awkward's Lauren Iungerich, Jeremy Haft, and Eddie Gonzalez isn't afraid to really go there (like, really go there) in each of season one's 10 episodes, whether it's diving into gang violence, love triangles, deportation, or buried treasure. So how is the show able to cover all these topics at once? On top of the excellent writing, we can thank the young cast's exceptional performances. The funny thing is, outside of On My Block, you might be surprised to see what all of the stars actually look like (especially Oscar "Spooky" Diaz!). As Olivia, Ronni Hawk has some of the season's most emotional scenes, and she knocks it out of the park every time. Before appearing on this show, she played Rachel Diaz on Stuck in the Middle from 2016 to 2018.

Where was Jason Genao before he was making us laugh (and breaking our hearts) as Ruby in On My Block? Well, this isn't his first Netflix rodeo — he played Napoleon in a handful of episodes of the now-canceled The Get Down. He's also popped up in Logan and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.

Like his costar Genao, Brett Gray (who plays the secret-spilling Jamal) had an appearance on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (you can see him in the 2018 episode "Chasing Demons"). He's also one of the dancers and singers in NBC's musical drama Rise.

Yes, we're still laughing about Jessica Marie Garcia's character, Jasmine. In addition to On My Block, the actress and comedian has had roles on Liv and Maddie and The Middle, and she was a part of the all-girls sketch comedy show Betch.

To be totally honest, we did a double take when we saw what Oscar "Spooky" Diaz looks like IRL. Without the tattoos and the shaved head, Julio Macias is a totally different (albeit still ridiculously attractive) person, no? The actor has appeared in the TV mini series La Vida es Como el Cine as well as Game Shakers and Jane the Virgin. You can catch him next in the film The Last Boat to Alcatraz!

Say hello to Ruby's Abuela! Peggy Blow ends up being one of the funniest highlights of season one, and it's not hard to see why. The actress has enjoyed a three-decade-long career, appearing in TV shows like Seinfeld, The New Adventures of Old Christine, Criminal Minds, and Dexter.
Hopefully Netflix renews On My Block for season two so we can see more of her soon!
