We are in the heart of Spring, and when we're not outside soaking up the sun or getting our brunch on, we're Netflix and chilling . . . obviously. Now that May is here, it's time to get ready for the monthly announcement of what's on Netflix [1]. The streaming service has not only added some of your favorite movies to its long list of must-watch films this May — like Shrek, Disney and Pixar's Coco [2], and Mamma Mia! — but Netflix has a lot of original films available that you're going to love.

In fact, there are nine Netflix original films that have hit the streaming site this month, which means you have a valid excuse to stay in throughout the month and just chill . . . watch movies and chill, technically. Everything from dramas like Sometimes and action films like Anon.

Sometimes is the first of many Netflix films coming out this May, and it's one that will definitely keep you on the edge of your seat. The drama follows seven strangers as they wait to discover what their HIV test results are. Along the way, they resort to bribing the someone at the clinic to find out sooner to find out which one is positive.

Anon

Amanda Seyfried [4] in a Netflix film? Sign us up! Seyfried stars alongside Clive Owen [5] in Anon, which is a sci-fi thriller, and based on Netflix's description it sounds thrilling indeed. This movie takes place in a future where technology has made privacy a thing of the past. The story follows a detective as they investigate a serial assassin who somehow has been deleted from all visual records.

Forgive Us Our Debts

Forgive Us Our Debts is a smart drama about a newly unemployed man who agrees to work for a debt collector, after being threatened by creditors himself. It ends up being a very bad idea since he soon discovers that his new gig comes with a few costs of its own.

Manhunt

With a title like Manhunt, you know this movie is going to be intense. The Netflix original film, starring Qi Wei and Zhang Hanyu, focuses on a Chinese pharmaceutical lawyer who is framed for a "vile" crime. He teams up with a Japanese detective in order to stop a corporate plot and clear his name.

The Kissing Booth

Remember your first kiss? Well, it was probably not as dramatic as the one in The Kissing Booth [6] . . . or was it? This movie is about a teenager named Elle (played by Joey King [7]) who has her first kiss with the hottest boy in school. The kiss however leads to a forbidden romance and risks her friendships along the way. Hello, this is so high school!

Martin Freeman and Anthony Hayes star in Cargo, which takes place in Australia. After a violent pandemic happens in the land down under, an infected father finds himself stranded and in search for a new home for his infant. Along the way, he begins to show signs of the infection and must also protect his daughter from his new persona.

Catching Feelings

Need a love story with a little conflict? Then Catching Feelings is for you! It centers around a Johannesburg professor and his journalist wife as they must navigate their relationship after a famous writer enters their lives.

Ibiza

Gillian Jacobs and Vanessa Bayer star in Ibiza, and you'll never look at a girls' trip the same way again! Ibiza is about Harper (played by Gillian) and her two best friends as they go with her on a work trip to Barcelona. Only when they get there they ditch work and travel to Ibiza, where Harper falls for a hot DJ. Grab your girls, because this one is going to be fun.
