On Wednesday, Sony released two new photos of Tom Hanks as Mister Rogers in the upcoming You Are My Friend movie, and we. are. emotional. Not only is Hanks the perfect actor to portray Fred Rogers, but let's discuss how incredible he looks. From the parted hair all the way down to the trademark shoes, we're already nodding our heads in awe over whatever words of wisdom are about to come out of his mouth.

The biopic is inspired by "the real-life friendship between Fred Rogers and award-winning journalist Tom Junod," and will hit theaters on Oct. 18, 2019. While it's been some time since the final episode of Mister Rogers' Neighborhood aired on Aug. 31, 2001, it's safe to say we could all use a bit of his nurturing energy and positive spirit in our lives.
