Michonne From The Walking Dead
- What to wear: A dirty tank top to show off your extremely toned arms, a leather vest if you have one, a pair of olive-colored skinny jeans, and a bandana to put just over your forehead to keep all the sweat you'll work up from slaying walkers out of your eyes. Grab a fake katana to complete the look (bonus points if you have two friends willing to dress up as walkers so you can lead them around on a leash all night [8]).
- How to act: Like a badass. Michonne speaks her mind and isn't afraid to (literally) cut down anyone who gets in her way. There's also a softer, jokier side to her, though, so don't spend all of your time brooding.

- What to wear: Barb's role in Stranger Things [10] might not be the most robust, but her wardrobe certainly is. Once you've figured out a way to get her short red hairstyle, get a plaid shirt with as many ruffles as possible, high-waisted light-wash (mom) jeans, a thin watch, and some Sally Jessy Raphael glasses. Feel free to tote around a fake notebook or binder.
- How to act: A little bit aloof and uncomfortable in social situations, Barb acts a bit like Nancy's mom throughout the show. Stay away from any pools, and refuse any and all offers of beer, especially if someone asks you to shotgun it.

- What to wear: Pulling from the Joker's signature colors, you're going to need a purple trench coat and black pants. - What to wear: A full-length orange jumpsuit with a white vest. Carry around your helmet.

Bomb, Red, and Chuck From Angry Birds
- What to wear: Glue feathers to sweatshirts that are in the same color as these guys, wear an irritated expression, and BAM — you'll be an angry bird.
- How to act: Angry???
Boomerang From Suicide Squad
- What to wear: You'll need a blue track jacket that reads "Captain," a pair of jeans, a gray overcoat, and black combat boots with duct tape holding them together. If you're wanting to go over the top with your costume, you should also consider getting a gold chain and a matching cap for your front tooth.
- How to act: Aside from faking an Australian accent, you should be on edge about everything. Be ready to snap back at any moment just like your weapon of choice.
Hank and Manny From Swiss Army Man
- For Hank: An unbuttoned, red plaid shirt with a plain white t-shirt underneath with khaki cargo pants and dark boots. Throw in some extra bushy facial hair and rips in some of your clothing to really bring it home.
- For Manny: Manny is a corpse, so you're going to want to make your skin look as pale, sickly, and dead as possible. Once that's done, throw on a navy blue suit with a white checkered shirt and dark tie. Smear some dirt on your clothes for effect.
Poussey and Soso From Orange Is the New Black
- For Soso: A prison jumpsuit in a khaki color, a black shoulder-length bobbed wig, and black slip-on sneakers.

- What to wear: When it comes to Harley Quinn's getup [19], the devil is in the details. - How to act: Get ready to layer on the crazy as thickly as you do the hair gel if you head out on Oct. 31 dressed as the fashion industry's most hilarious trio.
Cersei Lannister From Game of Thrones
- What to wear: For I-Just-Blew-Everyone-Up Cersei, wear short blond hair, a crown, a long black long-sleeved dress, and some kind of silver designs for your shoulders. If you want to go the extra mile, stick a bunch of fake swords to your back so it looks like you're sitting on the Iron Throne no matter where you are.
- How to act: Cersei always has the best, most cutting comebacks, so make sure you're on your game on Oct. 31. Also, have a glass of red wine to swirl around threateningly at any given moment.
Slipknot From Suicide Squad
- What to wear: Other than braiding your hair, you should be dressed in black from head to toe and have some hiking gear tied around your chest.
- How to act: March to the beat of your own drum and don't take orders from anyone.
Rey From Star Wars: The Force Awakens

Ezekiel From The Walking Dead

- How to act: Dory is forgetful (duh), Marlin is paranoid, and Hank is basically a grouchy grandpa in septopus form.
Mickey and Gus From Love
- For Mickey: An oversize, unbuttoned plaid shirt with a red bodysuit tucked into high-waisted jeans.
- For Gus: Thick-rimmed glasses, a band t-shirt, and a short-sleeved plaid shirt with jeans.
Erin Gilbert From Ghostbusters
- What to wear: Match your Ghostbusters attire with a brown wig with bangs.
- How to act: A little shy but definitely not afraid of ghosts.
Newt Scamander From Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them
- What to wear: The magic here is in the accessories. To really get that Scamander vibe, you want a stunning blue trench coat, a cute bow tie, a wand, and an old-fashioned suitcase. Be sure to add coordinating fashion elements like that vest, formal shoes, slacks, etc.
- How to act: You're a mysterious one, and you've definitely got a secret or two up your sleeve.
Eleven From Stranger Things
- What to wear: There are a few versions of Eleven you could be (Government Prisoner Elle, Hamburger-Eating Elle, etc.), but let's stick with the most recognizable. If you're not planning on shaving your head (pause and think about how much time it'll save you in the morning before deciding), get yourself some kind of flesh-colored skull cap or a bad blond wig. Then, find a high-necked baby-pink dress with a white collar, a blue jacket, striped knee socks, white Converse, and a chunky black watch. As a bonus, dribble some fake blood out of your nose and carry around an empty box of Eggo waffles.
- How to act: Since Eleven barely speaks throughout the series, you're off the hook for having to say anything out loud until Nov. 1. Practice staring intently and trying to move things with your brain (and be sure to let us know if you succeed).
Nancy From Stranger Things
- What to wear: If you don't have long brown hair, get yourself a long brown wig and pin it back on both sides of your head. Then, pair it with a cutesy striped sweater or button-down (buttoned all the way up, naturally), and a high-waisted skirt or jeans. If you go for a skirt, make sure you wear it with white tights and flats. Keep in mind Nancy's cool accessories, which include her homework, notebooks, and a bat.

Arseface From Preacher
- What to wear: Wear a nice blue shirt and khaki pants, but let's be real, the star of this costume is the arse on your face. Get creative at the craft store.
- How to act: You're a kind soul plagued with regret. You have a past that you're afraid to let people know about, so you go overboard trying to be helpful. You may or may not be living in hell.
The Waif From Game of Thrones
- What to wear: A short blond wig and some variation of gray pieces of clothing layered over each other. Feel free to carry a long wooden staff or fake dagger around with you in case you come across anyone dressed as Arya.
- How to act: To quote Jean Ralphio [28], the Waif is the WORST. She's rude as hell and will betray you at any moment. For instance, if one of your friends asks you to get them a drink, do so, but before you to hand it over to them, chug the whole thing while looking them dead in the eye, and then shoot them your meanest smile. Also, only refer to your friends and family as "the girl" or "the boy." They'll really enjoy that, we promise.
Tommen and Margaery From Game of Thrones
- For Margaery: Wear a long dirty-blond wig with your hair parted down the middle or done up beautifully. If you're going for Margaery's time as a prisoner of the High Sparrow, just wear a plain, loose-fitting tan sack dress. If you're going for OG Marg, put on a beautiful blue gown as elegant as your updo.
- For Tommen: See if you can find a robe or tunic in a gold/light-colored brocade fabric. Don't forget to wear a short blond wig, a golden crown, tall black boots, and a facial expression that suggests you hate your mother.
The Bennet Sisters From Pride and Prejudice and Zombies
- What to wear: If you combine a floor-length dress in neutral shades of white, brown, or green with a cardigan, a bonnet, and a fake machete, the result will be the ass-kicking Bennet sisters.
- How to act: Prim and proper, but ready to slice the head off a zombie at any moment.

- What to wear: You know the classic Wonder Woman look, but the modernized version is a bit darker. Get your hands on a shield, a lasso, and some arm cuffs. As for the armor, it's very reminiscent of a gladiator, so if you don't want to settle for any old premade costume, collect the pieces yourself.
- How to act: Like a total badass. This woman doesn't take sh*t from anyone.
Carol Aird and Therese Belivet From Carol
- For Carol: A curled blond wig, a fur coat, a pink scarf to wrap around your head, and a tight, knee-length dress or skirt.
- For Therese: A brown, chin-length wig, a light-colored shirt or sweater, and a plaid skirt.
Wade and Vanessa From Deadpool
- For Vanessa: Either a short spiky brunette wig with streaks of color, or a long curly brunette wig. Add a tiny and tight black miniskirt, skimpy tank top, and thigh-high stockings with black booties. If you get cold, throw on a red plaid jacket.

- How to act: Brave as hell, and really into space.
Tulip From Preacher
- What to wear: A black leather jacket over a cropped top or bra, jeans, and some cool sunglasses.
- How to act: You're a badass who doesn't take sh*t from anyone. Flex your Southern accent and flirt around.
Joyce From Stranger Things
- What to wear: Joyce has a more low-key '80s mom look than the rest of the parents on the show, so all you'll really need is a thin dark jacket, a striped shirt or chunky turtleneck sweater, and flared jeans with a shaggy brown bob hairstyle. If you really want to hammer home the fact you're dressing up as her, consider bringing a rubber axe or a piece of cardboard painted with the alphabet out with you. You could even go one step further and wrap part of your body in colorful Christmas lights.

- How to act: Dark and mysterious. You're in charge, and you're the nightmare that lurks in the shadows. Just creep around people like a crazy person all night and you'll be good.
Ravenna, the Huntsman, Sara, and Queen Freya From The Huntsman: Winter's War
- What to wear: Do you have a tall, blond, ridiculously ripped male friend? Is he into hand-to-hand combat and does he own a few leather vests? Then he might make the perfect Huntsman to your Sara, Queen Freya, and Ravenna.
- How to act: Pick a side, because this group isn't exactly on the greatest terms.
Cyborg From Batman v Superman
- What to wear: Much like the other members of the Justice League, you have to get that armor together. Since Cyborg is a bit more robotic, the more mechanical you are, the better. And if you can find a way to get that glowing eye, more power to you.

- For Sandy: A curly blond wig, tight black jeans, an off-the-shoulder black top, and red heels. Add red lipstick and hoop earrings to really nail it.

- What to wear: A military uniform with fingerless black gloves and facial hair.
- How to act: You're just a regular guy that got mixed up with the wrong crowd.
Scully and Mulder From X-Files
- For Scully: A chin-length red wig, a black blazer, a black pencil skirt, heels, and a white button-down shirt. Add an FBI badge to make sure everyone knows who you are.

- What to wear: A ruffled yellow dress and a black bra. Crimp your hair and, of course, grab a baseball bat (with "Hot Sauce" written on it).

- What to wear: If you're interested in channeling your inner zombie-killer, The Walking Dead costumes [41] are relatively easy to execute. Rick, Michonne, Glenn, and the rest of the crew basically rock normal clothes that are just covered in various patches of blood and guts. If you go as Negan, though, you've got to wear a black leather jacket and carry around a bat.
- How to act: A varying mix of terrified, ballsy, or verging on insanity.
Melisandre (Old Edition) From Game of Thrones
- What to wear: Well, there's not much to this costume, so that's a plus. The true, old version of Melisandre is butt naked, so get yourself a body suit that matches your skin tone and a stringy white wig. If you can use makeup to draw on a few wrinkles, you'll nail it.
- How to act: Exhausted and over life in general. Refuse all offerings of food, and avoid mirrors.
Claire and Jamie From Outlander
- For Claire: A long plaid skirt in shades of green and brown, a white tank top, and a brown, long-sleeved knit sweater. Add a curly brown wig.
- For Jamie: A billowing white shirt and a green, plaid kilt with Jamie's striking red curls.
The White Queen, the Mad Hatter, and Alice From Alice Through the Looking Glass
- What to wear: Rock the White Queen's all-white ensemble (white wig and dress, silver crown and jewelry), the Mad Hatter's orange-and-pink-themed outfit, or Alice's latest look (blond wig and a silk shirt or dress under a button-up vest). Feel free to go old-school blue-dress-white-apron-Alice if you prefer!
- How to act: The White Queen is calm, cool, and collected, while Alice is more impulsive and outspoken. The Mad Hatter is . . . mad.

- What to wear: A truly huge black hat that covers your eyes, tons of silver necklaces and bracelets, and a tight black dress.
- How to act: There are not a lot of acceptable situations in which to use the double bird, so take advantage of it.
The Mountain (Zombie Edition) From Game of Thrones
- What to wear: Unless the person reading this is Shaq, we're going to go ahead and assume you're not nine feet tall, so don't worry about your size. This costume is a little tough, though, considering the undead Gregor Clegane rocks a full suit of golden armor. You can always wear a gold long-sleeved shirt and pants, and then just buy a helmet if you want to keep things simple. Just make sure you make any visible skin look like the gray, rotting flesh of a corpse.
- How to act: Totally silent and totally terrifying.
Four and Tris From Allegiant
- For Tris: A short blond bob parted down the middle, with black skinny jeans, a black tank top, and some temporary bird tattoos [42]. Get some lace-up black boots and a military jacket in gray camo print if possible.
- For Four: A pair of black jeans, and a gray or black t-shirt and boots. Feel free to add Four's tattoos [43], or a swipe of blood on the side of your face (he gets in a few scrapes, OK?).
Katana From Suicide Squad
- What to wear: Aside from your sword, you should don black leggings, a white tank top, a black leather jacket, and black combat boots. You will also need a white mask and a red sash to tie around your waist and shoulders.
- How to act: Incredibly stealthy with a hint of badass. Have a conversation with your sword every once in a while.
Finn From Star Wars: The Force Awakens
- What to wear: A black shirt and a beat-up brown leather jacket. Wield a lightsaber.

If you don't have a potato sack lying around (understandable), just throw on your baggiest, drabbest light-colored clothes and get yourself a white wig. Go barefoot if possible, and feel free to carry a book around with the Faith of the Seven's seven-pointed star carved into it (or better yet, ask your friend to wear a black robe and paint the symbol on their forehead and follow you around all night).

The Dude Mutants (Dudants?) From X-Men: Apocalypse
- What to wear: Can you imagine how cool a Quicksilver costume would be (for instance: gelling your silver hair back to make it look like you're running at top speed)? Whether you dress up as him, Cyclops (red sunglasses), Nightcrawler (blue face paint), or Angel (silver wings), you know your outfit is going to be a winner.
- How to act: Quicksilver is a joker, and Cyclops is a cocky, well-meaning jerk. Nightcrawler is timid and sweet, while Angel is a mean-spirited villain in over his head.
