Box Office: Prisoners Captures Audiences

Hugh Jackman and Jake Gyllenhaal helped catapult their new release Prisoners to the top of the box office — the kidnapping thriller earned a total of $21.4 million over the weekend. Coming up second was last week's big winner, Insidious: Chapter 2, with $14.5 million. The Family came in third with $7 million, Instructions Not Included followed with $5.7 million, and Chris Brown's dance movie, Battle of the Year, came in at fifth place with $5 million. Films in limited release fared well too: Thanks For Sharing took in $608,000, Enough Said earned $240,000 in four theaters nationwide, and Rush made $200,000 in only five theaters.
