Ratatouille: BuzzSugar Recommended, YumSugar Approved

Pixar's latest feast for the eyes, Ratatouille, opens today and my girl YumSugar tells me it's fantastic. The animation alone is impressive, as is usually the case with good ol' Pixar, and the story sounds funny and sweet: Remy the food snob rat finds himself in the kitchen of Paris' famous restaurant Gasteau's, helping the clumsy dishwasher Linguini save a ruined soup. From there the two become great friends, and through Linguini, Remy gets the chance to be a regular — if hidden — chef at Gasteau's.

Being a cook and foodie herself, Yum has a unique take on Ratatouille so check out her review. And if you missed the 9-minute clip of the movie that Disney had on their website a while back, you can watch it if you

@TygrTyer: Agreed. Except...I have always been a dog owner. Hair bothers me not at ALL. Meh. You get used to it. Love my dogs. Lots. The hair? Not so much. But sometimes it's MY hair that floats I don't freak out like I used to. Still...if you don't wanna see the movie, see the website. Still interesting. And making me think of coming out of retirement to cook for good food places in Wichita, Kansas. Just sayin'. JoC

I agree with who said that kids didn't seem to get this movie. I went to a 5 pm showing with my sister and two little cousin. I have to commend my cousins because they laughed and gasped at scenes that were funny and entertaining. But my goodness, there were other children running up and down the steps, crying, crawling. It was crazy. I think this movie was aimed for young adults and oldr adults. I even saw couples buying tickets for this movie. With all that said, this movie is yummilicious. The song in the end was lovely, the details were excellent and once again Pixar/Brad Bird is my American version of Japan's Studio Ghibli/Miyazaki.

Eccchh! Bleecccch! Yuck! rat hairs in food! I know, I know, it's just a cartoon, but did you see that one scene where he's IN a roaster with the food?? All I saw was the 9 minute preview and I just can't get over it, it skeeved me out so bad. Daddy's gonna have to take the boys to see this one.

Best part off movie is the website. I went through it a few weeks ago. Each section of the site (buttons to click at the top) give you a different part of the story, and a professional kitchen, to examine. Better still, they give you a recipe for real world food to fix. And they remind the kiddies to "ask an adult to melt the pat of butter" for a grilled cheese sandwich. Too bad the kiddies didn't like as much, but I didn't expect them to. Also, I started eating grilled cheese sandwiches for breakfast before work two days ago. I'm such a movie wh*re... JoC

just chiming in to give it another thumbs up. I really loved it. And if you're into food, you'll love it twice as much!

I saw it this afternoon and I thought it was great! Adults would definitely appreciate the writing, as it is not a typical kids movie, filled with dumb slapstick and gross humor. I would highly recommend it.

We saw it a couple weeks ago when they did the sneak peak on a Sat night. It's Pixar at it's best! One thing we noticed was that the kids in the audience weren't as involved as the adults. During the dialogue we heard a lot of "why" questions...why'd they do that, why'd he say that, etc. We didn't notice this during Shrek, Meet the Robinsons and other kid friendly movies we've seen recently, but then again it was an 8pm showing and the kiddies might have had little patience. I didn't realize it til the credits, Janeane Garofalo is the voice of Colette.
