It's been a sad, sad week for Grey's Anatomy [2] fans. It was announced last week that major characters April Kepner (Sarah Drew) and Arizona Robbins (Jessica Capshaw) are leaving the show [3] at the end of season 14, which has everyone feeling emotional. While the cast has already spoken out about the heartbreaking exits [4], it looks like Drew herself is maintaining that big smile [5], and there's no better person to assist with that than Dr. Alex Karev (aka Justin Chambers).
On Monday, the adorable costars posted a series of sweet Instagram posts [6] together. "Oh how I love this one right here :) He's a gem inside and out. Makes everyone feel loved wherever he goes — and keeps us all laughing. 😘😘❤️❤️ I love you @officialjustinchambers," Drew captioned the photo above. While the two did get off to a rocky start upon meeting in season six after the merger — seriously, who didn't Alex get off to rocky start with?! — their contagious smiles might just mend our broken Grey's hearts [7].
Will April's departure end with another tragic death on the series [9]? Will she and Jackson magically get back together [10]? Will she have another baby [11]? Only time will tell how April's story ends [12], but given her recent downward spiral during season 14 [13], it's safe to say fans are finding a little nonfiction hope in these sweet posts with Chambers.
