The ensuing war results in three ruthless women desperate to claim the throne by any means necessary.

Step into the shoes of King Henry VIII (Bend It Like Beckham's Jonathan Rhys Meyers) in Showtime's The Tudors. Over the course of four seasons, the show explores the many, many relationships Henry had with his various female companions during his almost 40-year-reign as the King of England in the early 1500s. Between the storylines about Catherine of Aragon (Maria Doyle Kennedy) and Anne Boleyn (Natalie Dormer), as well as Henry's tussles with the church, it's a decadent thrill ride from start to finish. Bonus: you'll get to see a pre-Justice League Henry Cavill as Charles Brandon!

The CW found a surefire hit in their Mary, Queen of Scots drama, Reign. Watch as Mary (Adelaide Kane) does her best to navigate the ups and downs of French court, which include a devious mother-in-law (Anne of Green Gables's Megan Follows) and some seriously sexy love scenes with King Francis (Toby Regbo). The comedy soap opera is a parody of the modern-day royals, lambasting everyone from Prince Harry to Kate Middleton's sister, Pippa. The show started airing on BBC's Channel 4 in April, so there's still plenty of time to catch up.
